"What's in a name?"
— Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet
"Glad you asked."
— The Dave and Eddy Show
There are many approaches to naming companies and products. Ours is simple and inexpensive, as professional name-development goes. This is because:
- We believe there is no inherently "right" name. In the end, it's more important what you bring to a name than what it brings to you.
- We believe people who are smart enough to develop a good product are smart enough to help come up with something good to name it. They just need some guidance and support.
Namejamming, our facilitated namestorming process, works like this:
- We get a good background briefing from you and scout out the marketplace.
- We conduct a 2-3 hour Namejamming session on your premises, involving our team (two people) and yours (up to eight). This lively session involves exercises we've developed and refined over the years. The yield: 50-100 names, ranked and reviewed.
- We go back to our office and prepare a report, which includes:
- A review of names gathered during the Namejamming session.
- Additional names from our further internal brainstorming.
- An availability check on top-tier names.
- Our naming recommendations.
- Usually, this does the trick, but sometimes, another round of names is needed. We provide this with our own internal brainstorming.
Our Namejamming process costs $4,500 plus approved out-of-pocket travel expenses. If you want to add another namestorming session to the same day, it will cost an additional $2,000.
